Stacey Smith Improv Workshop
One of Europe's most experienced improv educators is coming to Düsseldorf.

Stacey is a performer, director, and educator – and one of the most experienced voices in the international improv scene.
With over a decade of stage experience, infectious energy, and an unmatched work ethic, she has built training programs, led festivals, and performed on stages across Europe and North America.
What Stacey brings
As former Artistic Director and Director of Education at the legendary Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam – where she was also a mainstage cast member – Stacey helped shape one of Europe's most celebrated improv institutions.
Originally from Long Island, with a deep love for music and musical theater, she studied theater, speech, and music before moving to Chicago. There she trained at the most respected addresses in the scene: The Second City, iO, and The Annoyance. In 2012 she landed her first full-time gig touring with The Second City.
Stage, festivals, and collaborations
Stacey has toured internationally, starred in the productions Life Hacks and #DateMe, and shared the stage with comedy royalty including Jason Sudeikis, Taran Killam, Amber Ruffin, Arjen Lubach, and many more.
"67 performances. 25 international improv festivals. Often as a headliner."
She is also the creator of Stacejam – an improvised solo musical extravaganza that has earned critical acclaim.
Teacher, mentor, and workshop creator
Stacey has designed training programs for multiple schools and created specialized workshops – including S.H.E. (Sisterhood Humor Empowerment), a program for young female-identifying students. She has taught and led at institutions including The Second City, iO Chicago, ImprovBoston, and ComedySportz Chicago.
As a producer, she founded the Chicago Musical Improv Festival, produced shows including The Musical Armando and Fraudway, and served as Boom Chicago Comedy Festival Artistic Director from 2021 to 2025. In 2026 she founded the Amsterdam Comedy Studio.
