Why join the Expat Improv Show Team?

The Expat Improv Show Team offers an enriching experience that includes

  • Professional coaching: Benefit from the expertise of experienced improvisers who will help you refine your skills and grow as a performer.
  • Supportive Ensemble Atmosphere: Join a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to fostering a collaborative and encouraging environment.
  • Live Stage Performances: Gain valuable experience performing in front of a live audience, building your confidence and stage presence.
  • Specialised Skills Development: Participate in targeted workshops designed to improve specific areas of your improvisation skills.

Commitment and Expectations

  • Rehearsals: Weekly rehearsals and coaching sessions will take place in Cologne from mid-January 2025 (except during NRW school holidays).
  • Performances: Expect to perform approximately 2-3 shows per year.

Improv is fun, but it's also work. We expect you to pitch in and take on tasks as needed. Life and work can sometimes be unpredictable, but you should plan to attend rehearsals regularly, at least twice a month:

While confidence is key on stage, it's equally important to be a supportive, humble and friendly team player. We look for people who thrive in a collaborative environment.

Openness: Improv is full of surprises! You need to be open to other people's ideas, willing to put your whole self into it (including physical comedy) and receptive to feedback.

Regularly checking how others perceive your performance will help you grow. We'll give you everything you need to improve, but you have to bring the passion and commitment.
